Description

NGC 1023 (ARP 135) is a barred lenticular galaxy in Perseus. It has an apparent magnitude of 10.35 and an apparent size of 8.7 x 3 arc minutes. It lies approximately 19 million light years away.

Location: New Ringgold PA

Optics: Hyperion 12.5 inch f/9 2532mm focal length

Mount: Paramount ME

Camera: SBIG STL 11000

Guiding: self guided

Exposure: LRGB - L:23x10min R:10x10 min, G:12x7 min, B:15x10 min for a total of 9.4 hrs

Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing with Photoshop. Reprocessed in Oct 2018.
